Phenomena Explanation
(OP)
We have an a 2000 watt Amada Pulsar 2415 AII. I am randomly getting these blow outs during my pierces in 3/8" and 1/2" material. Obviously I would like to eliminate this from happening. Can anyone help me out and offer some insight on why this would happen? I don't notice any discernible pattern which is making me scratch my head even more...I moved my leads back to counter it in the meantime as the picture shows to keep it from ruining my parts.

RE: Phenomena Explanation
Have you tried going the other way?
The molten splatter suggests that you're running too much power for starting a cut in the middle of the material, since you only have a tiny little hole at the top for the gases to escape. Alternately, you could possibly run a lower power until that first hole gets through the material.

RE: Phenomena Explanation
I'll try adjusting my power setting down for the pierce to see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion.
Has anyone ever seen this molten splatter happening due to almost being out of oxygen? We were on the very tail end of a bank of bottles. When I hooked up a fresh bank and cut for a bit I didn't get any blow out...
RE: Phenomena Explanation
Yes i have experienced that also. Because when you are running the last of the bank i have seen the oxygen pressure go up. That can do so the spattern accurs.
Speaking of the ramp part, it really depends on how much time into the ramp this accurs. If its really in the begining its surely is to much power or to much oxygen. But if it happens middle/end the power is to low or pierce time to low so it tries to move on even if the pierce is done or not. Also what kind of ramp you are using.(This really depends on your parameter, so these are guess from experience of these)
