Dear all,

I am new in this forum. BTW, I am facing recently some problem during boiler (HRSG) shutdown with drum upper and lower metal temperature difference issues.

During shutdown, only High Pressure Drum upper and lower metal temperature tends to increase beyond its limit ( >50 degree). we always try to maintain high level. But we cant minimize this difference. Could anyone suggest me how to maintain smoothly this temperature difference?

Thank you

Not much information here. But temperature difference for a structure is always, as known. given by the difference of heat amount supplied /heat amount released to surroundings over a given time.

The easiest is probably to alter time out, or perhaps utilize heat released to heat the lower part, or perhaps use some sort of jacketed or electrical heated system. Insulation?
