Equation of Fox's depth influence factor

Equation of Fox's depth influence factor

RE: Equation of Fox's depth influence factor

Here is a link to ELASTIC SOLUTIONS FOR SOIL AND ROCK MECHANICS by H.G. Poulos and E.H. Davis, 1974
http://research.engr.oregonstate.edu/usucger/PandD...

Many different approaches to elastic stresses due to a dizzying array of loadings.

Hi jdonville,

Thank you very much for the invaluable information with the link. I will look thru it to see if I can find the Fox equation or try a different approach from the link provided. I suppose if worse comes to worse, I can always manually look up the values and plot a few points to try to curve fit the depth influence factor.

Your information is much appreciated.

RE: Equation of Fox's depth influence factor

I think that Bowles book has available that equation in his book's CD.... but if you do a google search you will be able to find it.

The program was created on C++ or some similar old programming language. Our IT folks had that language available in their PCs so we could tabulate the values in EXCEL so we reproduced the graph.

Hi Okiryu,

Thank you very much for your input. I have a copy of Bowles book but no CD. I have not been able to find Fox equation from my google search yet. I will keep trying again. Thanks again.
