In NX Simcenter, the contact is defined between geometry entities, i.e. surface to surface or edge to surface, which upon creating the FE model is carried over to contact between elements or nodes.
When a FE Model is created outside NX, and brought in as a simulation file, there is no geometry to which mesh is associated. Is there a way to define the contact using the elements faces or nodes in NX advanced simulation module.
Thanks for the help.

In NX Simcenter, the Contact can be defined using Element faces. This option is available in .sim file (Simulation Module) in Loads and Conditions group on Home tab and under Simulation Object Type command and then Surface-to-Surface Contact command.
When contact Regions are created ,Element Faces can be selected to create the Regions, which are later used in defining the Contact.
