I have a project where we need to design a stirring paddle for a cooking vessel. It will not turn quickly. Perhaps 20 to 30 rpm would be good.

We intend to drill a hole in the lid and then insert a shaft with bearings and seal. A 12 or 24 volt geared motor to power the shaft.

The cooking vessel will have a little pressure that needs to be maintained. Around 0.15 Mpa .

I need to know what type of set up we need. What type of bearing and seal would suit this project.

google "mechanical design of mixing equipment". There's a pdf out there titled that or something close.

When I'm designing mixers for food service, the bearings are completely separated from the vessel. If you put a bearing in the vessel lid, how will the bearing lubricant be kept out of the process? (Hint: "sealed" bearings do seep and leak. The leakage needs somewhere to go before it goes into the vessel)
