The few times I've dealt with mixers and agitators, the manufacturers gave an equivalent static load and maximum deflection, but no dynamic information at all. And the equivalent static load may have been higher than actual loading to account for dynamic effects.

Yes, some very fine analytical tools exist for a detailed dynamic analysis. You can develop some fierce FEA models and analyze the structure at various speeds, various harmonics etc. etc. etc.

You can certainly devote months of engineering analysis time to each agitator.... make some beautiful reports.

But, the "quick and dirty" equivalent static analysis is what most engineering companies offer ....
