rubber in crude oil
(OP)
I have a question if you can help
I am working at a crude oil processing plant
Recently we linked a new field to the plant but we got saturated of filters with rubber pieces, scales
Can we know the source of the rubber and how is it made?
thank you

RE: rubber in crude oil
Can you share more background info for the question, such as the details of the "new field", what's the rubber pieces look like, where was found, any pictures, etc.?
RE: rubber in crude oil
well;when i say new field we can say we connected new wells ( new feed added to the old one )
the rubber was found on strainer after getting them plugged
yo can get more details on the attached image

we didn't suppose that because if it happen we can notice a failure on Somme part of the system and this didn't happen
all system parts are intact
RE: rubber in crude oil
Once a packer is set I am not sure that failure of the seals would be noticed.

but in our case strainers are plugged frequently , that means a considerable quantity
my questions is rubber could be mad up in the bottom of wells under a high pressure and temperature ? just guessing any way
RE: rubber in crude oil
If it is forming in the well it won't be a true rubber, it will likely be a wax of some type.
If you can identify it as type then maybe you can identify its origin.
Some rubber will breakdown in oil, swelling to over 4x its original volume and tearing itself apart in the process.

interesting!!
could i have a file or a video about how rubber will breakdown in oil, swelling to over 4x its original?
about the nature of rubber we sent a simple to have an idea if its synthetic or organic

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

RE: rubber in crude oil
Rubber that breaks down in hot water is nearly always very hard.
