Foundation design manual or book to refresh

Is there a good foundation design manual or book that would be helpful for a civil engineer who has been working in construction management and is making the transition back to a foundation design role? Thanks!

RE: Foundation design manual or book to refresh

There are quite a few....
Two classics are Winterkorn and Fang, and Hanson and Peck.

Read Terzaghi...anything!

For more contemporary works, look to Das and Coduto.

I agree with Ron. Also, try Foundation Analysis and Design by Joseph Bowles.

RE: Foundation design manual or book to refresh

Let me go across the pond - I have found M. J. Tomlinson's books to be very good (he has one on foundations in general covering both spread and deep foundations and excavations, etc) and he has one on piles). Also many of the US State Highway Departments have some very good manuals.

eBook – How to Choose the Correct Corrosion Testing Method
When designing a metal component, engineers have to consider how susceptible certain alloys are to corrosion in the final product’s operating environment. In a recent study by NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers), it was estimated that the direct and indirect costs of corrosion in the United States is approximately 6.2% of the GDP. In 2016, that cost exceeded $1 trillion dollars for the first time. Download Now
