How do you perform the verifying these points? Our procedure states that we verify it at the level of design (using centering pins) and incoming control via a 3D arm but for an inspector it was not sufficient as he asked for verification on the valves even after assembly and hydraulic test.

Especially for big valves this check is difficult, since the body diameter is larger than then the flanges and it's difficult/impossible to check flange holes alignment and flange parallelism once the valve is assembled. Do you know if some kind of instruments permits this kind of final check?
