API 620 tank Bottom bulging/depression cirteria

(OP)
Hi

One of our storage tank with following details is under construction:

Dia: 24.6 meter
Bottom Thk: 18mm
Compression Ring: 80mm
Shell thickness: 22mm
Type: Spheroid
Pressure: -50/10000 mm of AqG

During construction some of its bottom plates (which are in spherical curvature) got locally bulged. API620 and its relevant code cases are silent in this. Can any one help in this case which criteria to apply for local bulging in bottom plates of API 620 tank?

MJCronin

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA),Philippines , Region VIII, asked us a written PROCEDURE and a yearly test date stickers in every pressure vessel.

But in some regions, other FDA enforcers do not require hydrotests ..I am puzzled..

I think, we have to follow your advice...or submit our own Mechanical Integrity Program to the FDA.
