KSB valves

KSB valves

KSB valves

(OP)
HI

Are KSB valves good quality valves, and how they compare with known brands like emerson valves?

Any feedback from experience please.

Thank you

RE: KSB valves

Hi
Both brands you're mentioned are good brands which delivers good quality. Are they comparable? That's hard to justified.
When ones ordering a skid package, most likely all related equipment will be sized and designed from the same (parent) companies. It is possible but not common to have a KSB pump however installed for example Flowserve or Emerson valve next to it.
It is a logical business practice that inter-companies such as pump division share information to their valve colleague over process condition, trip function, etc.

To compare valve quality and reliability among one another, at least you need: a very identical process condition (and no deviation on process throughout valve lifetime/pump mtbf/etc.), similar valves' material, an exact same maintenance strategy using a similar OEM spare parts and a periodically record-able valves' finger print such as hysteresis, stroke/response time, seating force, etc.
This is a long observation and discipline strategy that should be done in accordance with dedicated protocols (if not done the same person for the next 20 years smile ).
And replacing valve A after 20 years in service with valve B, is not necessarily justifies that valve B is better than valve A.

MR

All valves will last for years, except the ones that were poorly manufactured; are still wrongly operated and or were wrongly selected

RE: KSB valves

They are not part of the low-tier of valve manufacturers and you can be confident with their products.

A feedback on a whole company will be useless for you.
Both with Emerson and KSB, your user experience will vary on the kind of valve you need, the brand you choose, the design and trim you select, the fluid you process, the factory that produces your valve and the local rep you work with...
They both make great valves and standard valves because users don't always need a great (expensive) valve.
The real issue is to select the best fit for your application.

All I can say is that I am using water wafer butterfly KSB ISORIA valves, and they are perfect for my need.
And I am using Oil&gas cage-guided severe conditions control valves produced by EMERSON FISHER, and they are perfect for my need.
