Hi,
Im new to this forum and I have a question about the Pressure in the lower water tank which is supplied by gravity from the upper tank by half inch pipe in the picture below.

Do you realize the diameter of the pipe makes no difference?

The pressure will be determined only by the level of the top tank fluid. The system will act like a single tall tank. The 'pressure' will be simply the depth of the pressure gauge position as related to the surface of the fluid in the top tank. You need to know the density of the fluid.

P = r * g * h

P is the pressure
r is the density of the fluid,
g is the acceleration of gravity
h is the height of the fluid above the pressure measurement point

Oh yes, they most certainly do! But, that's only if there is flow involved. You didn't state any flow was occurring. Any drop would disappear as soon as the flow dropped to some low value.

What you show is a closed system with no inflow or outflow.

If you got a proper piece of paer instead of sketching dsomething on your phone and provided some details as to flow or describe what is happening you might get some better answers.

And answer the questions from it smoked - it's all about level of the water in the tanks.

Volume is irrelevant in this instance.

But as drawn it will be about 0.1 barg in static condition.

If flow out of the lower tank >= flow in then the pressure might drop to atmospheric.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

My input is that it is a terrible sketch particularly with the yellow lines and writing which is difficult to read.
