A good example of Corrosion. It may be caused by the material defect, chemical, coating failure, or a combination of above.

Condensate is water or hydrocarbon?

Preferential weld corrosion can occur due to the material being affected by the heat or the weld material being different.

It can be quite startling to see at times and any acid or corrosive water can cause this. You need a metallurgist.
