Hello all

I am looking to use a non galling alloy in a pump application. the industry is hygienic, food processing, and the pump type is a positive displacement. I have experience with Alloy 88 (or Alloy 808) but am looking for alternatives. the material would need to be FDA compliant also.

Nitronic 60 seems to fit the application, I would be interested if anyone has any information over this material in service. I am also interested in any other idears on materials out there.

Appreciate your thoughts, I am hoping there is a non galling stainless genius somewhere on this site! :)

Nit60 is often used.
The galling resistance is a function of the mating material and the loads involved.
I have the various tables someplace, let me look. I believe that HP Alloys has the data available.
In PD pumps there are usually seal rings, and these are what are supposed to be rubbing.
I have seen pumps using ceramic barrels and plungers that are ground so tightly that they seal without rings.
