# How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis2

## How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis

(OP)
I need urgent guidance to apply spring as a boundary condition to avoid rigid body motion.

This?

### RE: How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis

e.g. workpiece is clamped in welding or AM process at the end of simulation I want to remove clamp but dont want to allow rigid body motion due to high temperature. four spring at corners may help to achieve this but I could not realize a spring boundary condition.

### RE: How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis

Hmm... I didnt understand your comment but many FEA solvers have option "Weak spring", than automatically add springs with low stiffness to avoid rigid motion.

Abaqus has spring element but how to use them as boundary condition it is a challenge for me. How to put them to avoid rigid body motion.

### RE: How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis

Connect one node of spring to structure and constrain other node. All is simple.

### RE: How can I apply spring boundary condition in abaqus for temp-displacement analysis

Interaction-Module: Special -> Springs/Dashpots
You can directly fix the other end at ground during definition.

Do I need some changes in LOAD/Boundary condition in after applying spring through interaction????

White Paper – Data Security and Know-How Protection
Our data is constantly exposed to the danger of being intercepted or stolen as it wends its way over global data networks. Data security measures and measures for protecting intellectual property should not, however, first be implemented when data is exchanged – companies must lay the foundation for these measures within their own organization. White Paper – Collaboration in the PLM Context
The influence exerted by the Internet of Things (IoT) means that there is a steadily growing need for collaboration in industry. Partners from new industries and areas of application need to be integrated in cross-company business processes to ensure that the lifecycle of smart, connected products can be managed from end to end.
