I am trying to find the calculations for walkway supports. We are building a farm of 3000 BBL storage tanks with 1/4" shell and have designed a catwalk system between the top of the tanks that would apply about 45kN on the supports.

Can anyone point me to the relevant sections of API 650 to confirm this is acceptable?

See 5.8.10 and Table 5.17. Detailed requirements/ design procedures are not given, and are left to the designer.
