I'm interested in importing data from SAE J1939 into a PLC via ethernet. I'm guessing that would be a CAN ISO 11898-2 to Ethernet gateway. Most systems I have seen communicate via RS232 which is a serial connection. I don't like that a single component issue takes out the whole loop and would prefer to use an Ethernet connection. Does anybody have any recommended gatways for this? Google doesn't turn up many options and I would prefer to use a trusted supplier like Mouser or Digikey.
