Abaqus foam drop test explicit analysis error , mesh distortion/stretching ?

Abaqus foam drop test explicit analysis error , mesh distortion/stretching ?

Abaqus foam drop test explicit analysis error , mesh distortion/stretching ?

(OP)
Hi ,
I am studying drop test of a box with PE foam packaging as shown.I want to find out the G forces and stresses on the foam.

Step - dynamic explicit
I have used ALE , frequency 3 , remesh per increment 5.
C3D8R elements for foam. The box is discrete rigid.
seed size is 2 mm for foam.
I get the distortion /stretching of mesh at the edge regions as shown and the analysis stops with error saying
**ERROR: Zero or negative mass in element number FOM-1-1.8177
***ERROR: Excessive distortion of element number 8177 of instance FOM-1-1
***ERROR: There is only one excessively distorted element

I have attached the inp ,sta and msg file.
Any guidance to solve the issue is greatly appreciated !
How can i solve this issue?
thank you very much.
Regards,
Vesh
