So not sure if I can believe a steel framed bed like this would be able to survive a complete building collapse.
If it was stout enough maybe - but how heavy would it be compared to 40 or 50 psf floor live load capacities for a residential space?

Ha! My kids would mess with me and I'd be soiling myself and getting trapped in there twice a week. I would hope that there's a signal beacon or something on there.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
