Yes, yesterday apparently some locals used hand tools to create a path for the cows to exit.

I'm sure they are relieved to be on firmer ground. I know I am.

I had the impression, from the first video and photos, that the ground around them simply sunk.
wannabeSE's video seems to imply they surfed down the hillside some distance.
