Holy cow!

RE: 7.5 EQ hits NZ - north-east of Christchurch

Are these genetically modified 'smart cows'?

How did they know where to run? (Conspiracy theories commence...)

RE: 7.5 EQ hits NZ - north-east of Christchurch

Animals know that kind of stuff.

RE: 7.5 EQ hits NZ - north-east of Christchurch

Now they just need to figure out how to get down...

RE: 7.5 EQ hits NZ - north-east of Christchurch

Well, I think we're just seeing the cows that managed to be in the right place at the right time.

Of course it was "shorn" - it is NZ, full of sheep. It think they meant 'shored'!

Sound like the support beams need to be 'beefed' up winky smile

RE: 7.5 EQ hits NZ - north-east of Christchurch

Or "sheared".

Quote (JAE)

Have they saved the cows that were on the roof yet?

Yes, yesterday apparently some locals used hand tools to create a path for the cows to exit.

I'm sure they are relieved to be on firmer ground. I know I am.

I had the impression, from the first video and photos, that the ground around them simply sunk.
wannabeSE's video seems to imply they surfed down the hillside some distance.
