Can someone please point me in the right direction on how to structure a large Electrical schematc, or better yet how a schematic for a semi-conductor tool should look. This machine will have Circuit breakers, transformers, relays, PLC, interlocks etc. I would like to know if there is a standard out there or something for me to view.

Thank you

Inputs on left, outputs on right, power on top, ground on bottom. Don't be afraid to use mulitple sheets. Also, try to break up the circuits into groups; power, communications, logic, etc..

I think a lot of plants use "ladder diagrams". Do a search here and on the web for that title.

The PLC was originally designed to ease the design of relay logic. It is easy for simple but increasingly difficult for
complicated tasks.

For a complex system or task a high level language may be simpler. <nbucska@pcperipherals.com>
