Shaft Mat'l - 4140 vs 4150?

I'll post this in a couple forums.
We're looking at pump shafts, under 6" bar size. Other than the 10 points difference in Carbon content (per ASTM A29), I can't find an appreciable difference between ANSI 4140 and 4150 until you get around 8" bar size where tensile differs a little.

Assuming non-resulfurized, is there any reason - such as machining - that makes one better?
