how to do the conversion from local grid coordinte line to global coordinate

how to do the conversion from local grid coordinte line to global coordinate

(OP)
Hey ALL!
I have to do the some of the setting out work in London site ,,,,but the thing is in my site there are 4 different local grid lines and the value for the grids but unfortunately i have to the setting out but that is not relate any of the the grid line ,,,,, i mean there are no distance from any local grid line to the setting out point ..... so i what i am thing is if i change some of the station value to the global value i can easily set out that points......

so Anyone know how to convert the local coordinate to global coordinate by calculator or any software or app or any online spreed sheet
ply give the answer.

Thanks

RE: how to do the conversion from local grid coordinte line to global coordinate

What about using GPS methods to establish latitude/longitude or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinates for at least your main control points, if not for the entire thing. That way, everything will be on the same coordinate basis. In the USA, we would then convert these spherical/semi-spherical coordinates to State Plane Coordinates (SPC). The SPC system projects the round Earth onto a series of flat planes. Small states have a single SPC zone, while California has several. Does the UK have a similar planar system you can work with?

Our surveyors also use some called OPUS (http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/), but I'm not very familiar with it. Perhaps the UK has something similar.

BTW, if you need to convert back and forth between latitude/longitude and Universal Transverse Mercator, I posted a worksheet for this on the PTC Mathcad forum a little over a year ago. You can find it here: https://www.ptcusercommunity.com/docs/DOC-6527. The .zip file contains a Mathcad Prime 3.0 worksheet as well as an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file for users with other versions of Mathcad.

RE: how to do the conversion from local grid coordinte line to global coordinate

I assume you were referring to GB specific-datums. This http://www.expertgps.com/convert-coordinates/defau... does that sort of cconversion, but I didn't see an obvious conversion for GB, although it appears to have conversions for France and Germany, etc.

There appears to be a number of datum conversion programs/sites:

Even Ordnance Survey itself: https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/business-and-gove...

Hey Thanks all of you for your replies....

I think my question is little bit confused .....my question is

in our site we have 4 different grid lines and the values for them those are not parallel or no connection between them so for the setting out purpose i want to transfer /convert my station ( which is i have in local coordinate ) values to global coordinates ......

and what ever your provide the information are not suitable for me ....it is not work it out

....
Plz if you have any idea plz let me know that ...

RE: how to do the conversion from local grid coordinte line to global coordinate

Sorry, your question seems to be mostly a repeat of your original post, and you've provided what appears to be zero new information. Again, I suggest that you click the report link at the lower right of your first post to ask to delete this and re-post in the surveying forum. This forum is for questions about Mathcad. I also suggest that you come up with drawings or examples, because simply repeating your question is not going help anyone to help you. For example, a concrete example of your "local" coordinates, and explanation of what you mean by "global" coordinates.
