Hello,
Has anyone had experience with applying for an NCEES record, and having to translate his/her foreign education transcripts and course descriptions?

I'm in the process of doing that, and am seeing quotes from certified translators hitting $500 and up!

My question is, how complete need the translations be? I doubt I have to translate every paragraph of the course description and just focus on the actual descriptions which could be a short paragraph. I even doubt I should include such courses as mathematics or computer class (Turbo-Pascal era!!) or even business management.

Thoughts? Anyone with experience?

I'll answer my own question: it's sufficient to translate just the course descriptions. Most important are credits and hours. Also, make sure to include all courses! I thought they wouldn't care about basic sciences courses like mathematics 101 or biology, but they do! Sociology, philosophy, history, you name it. For reasons that are beyond me, "social" studies are a requirement for NCEES.
