Weakness Plane Model

Weakness Plane Model

Weakness Plane Model

Weakness plane model:

Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding Weakness plane model. What are limits of it?
Can it be only applied when Beta W = 45 ' + Theta w ' /2?

When does maximum possible strength predicted by this model occurs?
Is it at Beta w= 45 degree + Thetaw'/2?

When does this model predict minimum strength? at what angle?

Does this model assumes that inherent strength is same in all directions? What is inherent strength and its application
with respect to reservoir? What if we are dealing with set of parallel planes when the strength is lower? Will that inherent strength
assumption still stand?

Can this model be only applied when the material is elastic? What's the reason behind it?
why not when materials show other behaviors ,other than elastic?

5- In Critical state soil mechanics what does critical state condition mean?
and how does it effect on reservoir scale and well scale?

6- If we do TXT CL test on dry rock specimen.
Does the amount of dilation decreases with increasing confining pressure?
Whats the reason behind it?

Does peak strength and subsequent drop in pressure occur at high confinement pressure?
If so whats the reason behind it?

Is the confinement behavior brittle or ductile?whats the reason behind it?
