Hey everyone,

I'm in the military currently and looking to pursue a degree in coastal civil engineering. While currently located in San Diego there is a possibility I will be getting stationed in Jax, Fl. in 2018. I'm looking for some good info on schools to go to in the area of both San Diego and Jax with good programs. If anyone has any information on schools in those areas or programs in general please don't hesitate to post and thanks in advance.

RE: civil engineering programs

RussellA....the University of North Florida has a civil engineering program with a coastal and port engineering certificate option. Further, you can also participate in degree programs from any of the many state universities in Florida through the "FEEDS" program (Florida Engineering Education Delivery System), a distance learning program that would allow you to participate in any of the Coastal Engineering programs in the state.

I am a part-time faculty member at UNF.

RE: civil engineering programs

Last summer I assembled links to online Engineering Masters Degrees to post on my website: Link

Although I was not looking specifically for Coastal Engineering, I do remember see two or maybe three programs for Certificates. Was somewhat surprised not to see more. The only one I specifically remember is Old Dominion University

Of course if you choose UNF, you may get Ron as an instructor - that would be worth a lot.

SRE...thank you.....you are way too kind!! My students would probably disagree!lol

RE: civil engineering programs

I don't know about schools in the San Diego area but you might stop by and talk to someone at Moffatt & Nichol in Mission Valley. They specialize in Coastal Civil.
I don't know how this site works but I can give you contacts if you can e-mail me.
