Hello everyone.

I have a question about Table 4.14 of AWS D1.1.

For SMAW process, the CNV shall be removed only from [Weld Metal] or [Weld Metal, FL+1 and, FL+5]?

The same case for others process, for example: For process GTAW, the specimens shall be removed only from (Weld Metal and FL+1) or (Weld Metal, FL+1 and. FL+5)?

It is the Engineer's responsibility to specify where the CVN is to be extracted, i.e., weld or HAZ or both, the test temperature, and the required test results. The figures are to show the location of the CVN samples when the location is specified by the Engineer.
