Good morning everyone,
I've to start to model a contact stress analysis for a roller on a cilinder and study how the radius of curvature of the roller (witch is charged) changes the stress along the axial direction.
We're absolutly new with fem, so I choose to ask for an advice about what strategy to adopt in order to optimize the analysis.
We assume that the cilinder is rigid, I've tried to model it with plate elements fixed, but once loaded, the results are wrong. While if I model with solid element the result is acceptable, but with solid contact, in order to have a good mesh, the time needed is high, we have a pc for office stuff, so not so much powerful.
Any kind of advices? In the next hours I can upload some material if it's necessary, thanks in advance for your kindness.
