Hi all,
I'm running FEMAP on a new machine and when I run my model it doesn't generate any results, the f06 file is empty but it seems to run.
I saw this in the log file:
15:46:53 NSINIT: *** NSINIT ERROR 70 *** UNABLE TO OPEN UNIT 8
What does it mean?
What could it be?
Thank you,
W

RE: No Results
This is a well know problem. On April 1, 2009, users all around the world trying to run NX Nastran found that it stopped with an NSINIT Error 70 in the log file. The error was related to a date check of NX NASTRAN 6.1 (April, 2009), carried out in an initialization routine that is run at startup of NX Nastran. As this issue can be traced back to the source code of early versions of Nastran, this error is also being reported by other competitive Nastran products.
Siemens PLM did resolved the problem with a software patch that changes a binary integer value and in effect changes the date check algorithm to allow the program initialization to proceed. The benefit of this approach was that there is no change in the compute engine, memory map, or any other portion of the application that would affect results from NX Nastran.
A modified “analysis” executable for each version and platform of the product is available from the download site at the GTAC (you need a valid webkey). The appropriate executable files may be found at the Siemens PLM GTAC site, and is available in the form of “NXNVersion_Platform”.tar.gz on unix and linux platforms and “NXNVersion_Platform”.zip on Windows platforms.
Alternatively, I suggest to update to the latest version of FEMAP V11.2.2 that comes with the new NX NASTRAN V10.2.
Best regards,
Blas.
