Converting 2D sketch to 3D model
Converting 2D sketch to 3D model
(OP)
I know this is waaay late, but I just ran across this thread (thread578-334990: Possible to convert 2D sketch to 3D model?) and thought I'd offer my thoughts.
There is a way to view a 2D layout in model mode. And that is to first export the layout as a dxf file. Then import the dxf into Cadkey. (or KeyCreator, if you're running the newer software.) Now you can use those 2D views to create he 3D model. It's not a "one click" automatic job. But the process isn't all that time consuming, or labor intensive, thing either. Of course that all depends on the part complexity.
