I am working with a PLC5 and a Powerflex 700 and my personal PC.
I want to connect the PLC5 and the Powerflex 700 trough RIO (Remote I/O). I already setup the Rack Address, Group, Rack Size, Baud Rate in my devices and the LED indicators are green. But I dont know how to Configure RSlogix in order to send and receive information from the PowerFlex 700. I basically want to start the drive and stop the drive, and receive basic infromation like motor speed.

I am using:
PLC 5/40 Channel 1B Scanner mode
PowerFlex 700 Variable Frequency Drive with 20-COMM-R adapter.
3 Pin Cable to communicate trough RIO.
Personal Computer to PLC5 trough DH+ To USB.
RsLogix 5

If you can get it to communicate, you will need to use message files to send and receive data to/from the drive. I'm not familiar with the 20-comm-R card, I've used the 20-comm-E and 22-comm-E. Those cards probably work the same way. You will need to look at the manual for that card and figure out what registers are used for status/commands/data. I think it would be easier to use modbus RTU on something that old.
