Guide document and flanged joints

Guide document and flanged joints

Guide document and flanged joints

(OP)
Dear colleagues! Thank you very much for you help.
Please, can you answer which variant is correct to write: “guide document” or “guiding document”? The document relates the procedure of strength and tightness calculation of flanged joints for pressure vessels. It is not a standard. I have to translate its title, convert its designation from Russian into English and decipher it. Finally, it must be like “GD – 12345. Vessels and apparatuses. Norms and methods of …(GD – guide (or guiding?) document)”.
Please, also answer which is preferable: “flanged joint” or “flange joint”. In ASME Code and books both variants can be found. When translating my calculations, I used the first one.
A lot of thanks.

RE: Guide document and flanged joints

Try Googling "Guidance Document". See if the examples you find are the same sort of thing as you are trying to translate.

I would choose "flanged joint" myself - but if your audience is more familiar with "flange joint", then that is what you probably ought to use.

A.
