Laser Engraving on PU and Potential Chemical Reaction?

Laser Engraving on PU and Potential Chemical Reaction?

Hi guys,

Can artwork / logo application method such as laser engraving be done on notebook's cover made of PU or this method is more suitable for genuine leather?
I often see notebooks with their PU cover being debossed and embossed and wonder how laser will interact with PU material.

Can you give a pointer to forum where topic of discussion is on genuine leather? I would as about this method for genuine leather here too but think it's not really section for discussing this type.

Thanks for help
