Hi, I'm a 4th year process engineering student. Our final year design project is wastewater treatment. We have chosen to use an electrocoagulation unit with Al electrodes. I was wondering whether there is any advice on the treatment of the sludge coming out of the EC reactor, what do you normally do with this sludge (as it has a high amount of aluminium in it)? Is there anywhere that it could be sold to, or would buy it? What are some ways that the sludge is handled in industry? Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Aluminum is used as a coagulant. Probably can use it as a coagulant to remove phosphorus after some pilot testing.
