Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

I have just received an error message "OVER CURRENT TUBE" in THE HV unit of my Bystronic Laser cutting machine Bysprint 3015. Resonator is Bylaser 3000. As per the user manual given by Bystronic it means following.

"Excess current in the discharge path concerned.Breakdown of discharge path in the resonator or defective electronics in the high-voltage cabinet."

Can anyone suggest what is the cause & solution of this problem. I am unable to start LASER because of this message.

RE: Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

Not familiar with Bystronics, but on systems I work it could be a few things:
Gas Leak
Bad Gas
improper torr (too low)
dirty plasma tubes
Bad Tetrode (if your laser uses them).

is it a laser mix or do you have separaate tanks of helium, CO2 and N2? are you able to raise your torr(vacuum)? do you know which lane is overcurrenting? If your able to see the plasma tubes when it happens, do you see the same tube area blooming every time. On our slow and fast flow lasers we can swap electronics around to see if it's in a particular lane or if its the electronics.

RE: Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

My work has a ByStronic ByStar 4020. When we receive this message, we simply hit reset on the panel. That usually clears the message. If that doesn't work, it could be a fuse.

RE: Error Message in Bystronic 3015 Laser "OVERCURRENT TUBE"

Unfortunately, the answer for me was not a good one. Our entire resonator needs rebuilt. It generally points to a gas leak. Impurities get into the system, and the beam starts to look like lightning instead of solid.

In our case, it's going to cost approximately $30,000 to repair.
