The new Subscription policy being discussed in the Dassault Solidworks forum may be a boon to the 3Dsystems Geomagic Design.
Smaller Solidworks users may do as I did , retreat from the higher subscription and maintenance fees, and go to the Geomagic parametric modeling program.
With Geomagic translate you can import and export Solidworks files and do 90% of the work you can do on solidworks.
