Help with the Russian language

(OP)
As far as I understand, the purpose of this forum is to offer help to people who can`t understand what is written in different languages. If yes, I will be more than happy to offer help with translating terms or small passages written in Russian/Ukrainian.

Also there are some web-sites that can be used to quickly and efficiently translate terms or word combinations (these are used mostly by professional translators):

http://multitran.ru - a great and professional EN<->RUS dictionary (daily updates)

http://www.proz.com/ask/ - you can ask a question about your term or word combination there in any language, and a number of professional translators will be instantly there to help you.

http://www.linguee.com/ - contextual look-up of terms or word combinations.

http://google.com - why not? smile

RE: Help with the Russian language

Welcome to Eng-Tips and thank you for offering to help in translations. That is indeed the purpose of this forum, but it's generally pretty slow here, due to a number of factors:
> people need enough English to get to Eng-Tips at all
> most people don't find this forum unless someone points them to it, otherwise they post directly in the forum related to their questions
> most people who have sufficient English to find their intended forum tend to have sufficient English to ask their questions and muddle through

The end result is not much action here. Nevertheless, it's here if people need actual translation.
