I just noticed this morning that when I attempt to insert a block using the standard ribbon, i.e. from the Home tab, click on Block, then click on Insert, the drop-down shows the block names, but no thumbnails appear.

I am running 2015 SP2 under Win 7 Pro x64. The only system change I might suspect as a contributing factor is a 24 item Windows Update that was done last night.

Anyone here experience the same issue?

Windows updates occasionally scramble my ACAD settings. I can usually fix it by resetting my screen settings in ACAD.

The puzzling thing is that it only occurs with one DWG file. That file happened to be open in AutoCAD when Win 7 decided to apply the updates. I have not yet tried to insert that DWG file into my template file which, I suspect, may resolve this issue.

Yeah, Microsoft always starts its upgrades right when you are in the middle of something. Microsoft would interrupt a 911 call if it could.
