Hello forum,

I am required to provide a target value for flow of 500 gpm. How much will be the tolerance over and above the 500 gpm flow? 5% or 10%? How do i determine that ? or will the pump manufacturer indicate that ?

Is there a formula or document to determine the flow tolerance?

thanks,

Only the person who specified the target value can tell you how much difference between that and the actual flow they will tolerate.

In order to estimate the probable actual flow, we would need the 'pump curve' (from the manufacturer), and probably a complete specification/arrangement of the piping system on both sides of the pump
