Selection of Sealing plan for Pumps

I am searching for some guidelines on selection of right seal flush plans for a given service of the pump.

Any inputs/help are appreciated.

what type of pump - ANSI or API?

API-682 (that's American Petroleum Institute) and api-610 are good starting points.  additionally, contact the pump mfg for recommendations.
the ANSI pump standard B73.2(? - slightly forgetful and do not have reference materail with me) is another standard.

the seal plan depends upon pumpage, pressures, temperatures, etc.  depending on seal plan, a compatible barrier fluid is recommended.
