Potassium permanganate, expensive and great

Potassium permanganate, expensive and great

Hey guys,

Anybody know of a good distributor to get a lot of KMnO4 powder from. I'm doing a cost analysis on leachate treatment right now and after some tests this was the best option but it is apparently not worth the hole in the wallet.

On a side note, any other recommendations for treating leachate? I'm kinda new to this.

RE: Potassium permanganate, expensive and great

Carus is the big name in potassium permanganate.

You probably need some form of the activated sludge process to remove the organics in the leachate.

RE: Potassium permanganate, expensive and great

KMnO4 is a strong oxidizer. There are plenty of other options for oxidation. Chemically and physically.
A strong peroxide may be a good possibility.
