Harmonic Response

Harmonic Response

Harmonic Response

(OP)
Hello, all.
I did a search on this and could not find anything. I hope someone can help me out! I've been tasked with running a full harmonic response on a model, and I'm expected to get it done in a day. Haha!

A coworker of mine has a pre-built model in GTStrudl that I'm supposed to "efficiently" work off of. I'm sure this would be a quick and easy analysis for someone who is familiar with GTStrudl, but I have never used it before.

Does anyone know of a step-by-step guide (online or otherwise) that I can use to run this program? My ultimate goal is to find the x-, y-, and z-direction support accelerations. I already have the supports and loads; I am just trying to run a harmonic response.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Harmonic Response

I don't do dynamic analysis but there are example problems with GTStrudl that may show how to do something like you want. If your company pays for the support and annual updates, you can call the CASE center and get technical support.

RE: Harmonic Response

Hello Mitch;

I think you need to update the training web page. The training was back in May 2014. We have a new engineer that needs GTS training and now that GTStrudl is a part of Intergraph and not subject to the Georgia Tech school schedule for training, I had hoped that more classes would be available spread out over the year. I was at the GTSUG meeting last week in Las Vegas and may have met you.

RE: Harmonic Response

At the Hexagon conference and GTStrudl User's Group Meeting, Dr Will said V33 would ship in June but I have not seen it yet. I talked to Chris at APS and he got his already but he is a QA user. I'll eMail you from work tomorrow about training. I signed up for the webinar but I have been a casual user for about 25 years. I design mostly industrial type small frames.
