Tom...unfortunately it happens all too often. Developers focus on one thing...money. They are not concerned with safety, quality or performance....just how fast can I get this done and receive income from it or flip it.

I realize there's a lot of government intrusion in our lives; however, the health, safety and welfare of the public must be protected through the entire stream of development....the disconnect is primarily with the developers, who generally have no licensing requirement, no criteria to meet except perhaps a land use/development ordinance, and no responsibility to anyone, particularly the public.

While this developer may very well be a scuzzy individual, let's not be judge, jury and executioner before we have the trial. Construction accidents happen to good and bad developers. More to bad, but still......

Jed,

"In the past few years, Sabri has started projects without permits, taken the city to court, and allegedly disregarded building codes and ordinances resulting in thousands of dollars’ worth of fines, according to the Star Tribune."

I would certainly call this a pattern...

Tom, you just made Jed's point. I hope that was intentional.

Hope his insurance company refuses to pay...

Dik

Since nobody was injured, I don't really expect there to be a trial.
