Material/Metals Cross Referencing software

Material/Metals Cross Referencing software

(OP)

Hello All,

I'm looking to purchase software for the company I work for that would allow us to cross reference alternate materials for ASTM in several countries.

Does anyone recommend anything?

Right now I’m looking at the following…

Key to Metals
http://www.keytometals.com/

Key to Steel
http://www.key-to-steel.com/en/home.html

Looking forward to hearing your options...

Thanks.

The Stahlschlussel products are excellent.

I second that suggestion, I reference my Key to Steel frequently. And yes I use the paper version.
It helps when you are having to compare a number of grades to each other.
You are aware that for most grades/specs there is no direct cross, it take a significant amount of engineering judgement in order to identify suitable alternative across specification systems.
You also have to actually own the various material specification so that you know if the manufacturing and testing requirements are similar enough to interchange the materials. Just matching chemistry is only the first step.

I have also heard good things about the CASTI books.
