Recommendations for a quality microwave that can handle soil testing.

Recommendations for a quality microwave that can handle soil testing.

(OP)
I am a geotechnical engineer and I currently run a soil testing lab. We are involved in a large scale project that involves the use of microwaves to "dry" out my soil in order to achieve expedited results. The problem that I am having is that my microwaves keep dying. I have exhausted all of my warranties and now I am in the hunt for a more "quality" microwave. Is there anyone that can refer me to a good microwave. I have already tried a "low-end" commercial microwave ($350). Please... If you use a microwave for the same application, please give me your make and model No. so I can copy! I have checked to see if the ASTM Procedure recommend a certain microwave, however they just give you a handful of tips to follow!

Thank You!

RE: Recommendations for a quality microwave that can handle soil testing.

Have you taken any care to treat your oven from failing? You know when there is no water or other material that can be "agitated" by the radio waves, that poor oven can fail. I would keep a spare container of water in the oven, even if it slows the job. Your problem sounds like failure to read the instructions.

Way to go oldestguy! A very astute observation . . .
