QuickPanel JR programming sw

Hi guys,
Good stuff, by the way.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the now-defunct, no-longer-supported Quickpanel jr. config sw?

The manuf. is recommending replacing the unit, but first we need to see the cfg in order to duplicate it in another OIT. Yes, I can do it "by hand" but I would rather try the sw route first, as the machine is in production.

Thanks to all!

RE: QuickPanel JR programming sw

There are two software packages for the later versions of the QP jr.
If it is of the second generation or later you can use QuickDesigner or Proficy Machine Edition QuickPanel View software, these are both available from any GE-IP distributor or rep. go here to find one near you:
http://support.ge-ip.com/support/index?page=spage&...

You will also need programming cable which typically comes with the software, verify this when ordering. Generally the cost is around $400.00 US plus/minus a Grant. :)

If you have a good working relationship with your distributor they will offer the conversion into a replacement QuickPanel View HMI. We have done many at no charge as the GE-IP QuickPanel View HMI can be converted in Proficy ME with few exceptions.

RE: QuickPanel JR programming sw

BTW, are you sure that you can get the configuration out of this QuickPanel Jr.?
I would guess that this is a 50/50 chance as nearly half of these do not have the screens and configuration stored in a manner that they can be retrieved. These units had small amount of memory plus at first pass the option to load the project with the configuration was turned OFF by default.

Yes, I know that the default is NOT to load the project with the cfg. I am rolling the dice. Typical OEM procedure is to load only the cfg. I think these units are first gen.

Thanks.

RE: QuickPanel JR programming sw

Until you know for sure what you have, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to help you.
There were 4 generation:
QP1 Series Panels Supported by QuickDesigner V1.x and QD V2.x
QP2 Series Panels Supported by QD 2.x , V3.2 and Up
QP3 Panels Supported by QD 3.5 and Up
Qp4 panels Supported by QD 3.6 and up

The last version of QuickDesigner was 3.70

Proficy Machine Edition View works with nearly all units from QP2 and later.

RE: QuickPanel JR programming sw

Oops, forgot to mention.
To Import into PME View, you need a .prj QuickDesigner export file from QD 3.70
