So, is there anyone has done a composite optimization (size, free size and shuffle phases) by using optistruct???? I am considerably wonder the way of exporting all the optimized results like ply bundle shapes for each angle and stacking sequences after shuffling phase is done and importing them to Catia (composite workbench)!!!! Please let me know!!!

RE: composite optimization

Have you looked into FiberSim?

My school does not have this. So I have not used this before. if you have any source to get me understood, could you please send me that to
structure_analyst@hotmail.com.

Thanks!!!

RE: composite optimization

At the risk of opening a can of worms, if this optimisation process is based upon Tsai-Hill or Tsai-Wu criteria, I wish you the best of luck. How anyone can rely on a failure criterion which suggests that if you reduce the transverse tension allowable stress, then the biaxial compression strength actually increases is beyond me. I actually asked once Steven Tsai at a conference how this could be and he responded that the maths told him so. Stephen, that is only true if the maths is correct.

Worms released.
