Chamber Storage --> Infiltration Basin Modeling
Chamber Storage --> Infiltration Basin Modeling
(OP)
Hi All,
First time on Eng-Tips site...
I'd like to model the following: Chamber system (using chamber wizard) directly under an infiltration basin. These 2 elements would be connected via 2 4-ft dia manholes with open inlets. Idea being, the chambers would fill, and during larger events, flow OUT of the manholes into the infiltration basin, where it would then discharge via broad crested weir to ROW.
I've attached a screen-shot of the storage. Is this correct, or do I need to do separate ponds?
Thanks, Bill

RE: Chamber Storage --> Infiltration Basin Modeling
Your setup looks OK, although it's hard to tell from the storage entry screen. The pond summary gives a better view of the entire setup.
Since the "infiltration basin" is above the chamber system, you should give careful attention to how you model the exfiltration. Basically, you don't want to double-count any of the (shared) area between the basin and the chambers. Exfiltrating through the side-walls is the safest way to ensure this, or exclude the basin from exfiltration entirely.
