has some info about compound sections, which I think is what you are interested in. The simplest methodology consists of factoring the width of various segments of a beam according to its modulus. A more sophisticated and generally applicable approach uses the area and modulus multiplied together for all materials. These matters are covered in mechanical engineering text books such as Gere and Timoshenko.
