Inventor templates

(OP)
I got the. Idw template saved to the default location, with help from thus forum, but now when I create a drawing the file name is not updated into the field in the lower right corner. I can get around this but is there an easy fix for it to load the name of the part model into the drawing? And thanks for the help on this! I can do most of what I want in Pro tE but Inventor is new to me.

RE: Inventor templates

iProperties in the model must match the name in your template.

Open your template and edit the title block. Edit the text you want to automatically update (part number). Set the drop down for "Type" to "Properties - Model" then the "Property" drop down to "PART NUMBER". Then click the button with an "X" and a down arrow on it to insert it into the text. It should show up in the text box as <PART NUMBER>.

Save you template and try adding a part.
